I couldnt get this app since I didnt have the Japanese iTunes, but since this came out, I finally can. And, guys, you expect English? Please- most of the Nico community that does lives or uploads videos are Japanese natives. Pls. If you cant even read enough labels to maneuver around the site, um.. People upload the songs on Youtube. :)

This app works fine its in Japanese and its (mostly) for Japanese people but I dont care. I could sign in and watch videos perfectly the ONLY thing Americans cant do ( to my knowledge at least) is that you cant go premium. But, like I said that dose not bother me. Its a good app and Ive been waiting for this for forever and I like the app, so THERE critics!

A new update with English notes yet the app still has a UI 98% in Japanese. The remaining 2% is wanting me to subscribe to Premium in English. For the people who want to watch videos only available on Niconico but cant navigate the Japanese interface, avoid this app at all costs. Use the web version. It has a relatively better interface since it has English. Still a terrible app for international users. Even if Niconico is primarily for Japanese audiences, it has catered to English speakers. For the app to have a description in English while not being the case in the app is contradictory and disrespectful.

This is the official app and it is far superior to the third party apps available. You do need to know katakana to use most of the functionality though. Please ignore the other reviewer, I ended up trying the other apps first due to him and they are all worse than the official app.

The videos are high quality and really pretty! This app is in Japanese but its really easy to find out what buttons mean what!

I love this app its great and it has a bunch of Japanese videos...to be honest I use this app to play videos from YouTube but I still have one problem...I DONT UNDERSTAND A THING!! Dont get me wrong I love Japanese and all that stuff but I just cant, Cant read kanji!! I want to post videos of my own but I cant even find out where Im supposed to post them! It would be great if this app was translated so I can maneuver through the app with no problem. I know its my fault for not being Japanese or learning Kanji but I bet that Im not the only one that wants this app translated

IT TAKE SOOOO LONG TIME TO WATCH A LOW QUALITY SMALL MAD

The app works well. It the data transfer is low even over wifi. Up side. It plays all the videos. Down side. It takes a while.

Its okay, why cant I read Japanese manga on this app? I have a niconico account to read manga in Japanese like in the PC version of the site.

Video playback is otherwise fine, if you can read Japanese. Desktop browser has translation features and EN/JP comment options, your default is in English, but for the app, its not? Im a niconico translator and had hoped to translate some video descriptions on mobile but I was disappointed to discover that even the app configuration screen isnt fully translated. There is no option to set English community translations on or off. Please add this functionality.
